In one word — yes. The haters will go crazy, but no conference looks as good as the Big Ten right now. The Pac-10 (2-5) and the ACC (3-4) stunk in their respective bowls, and while the Big East did go 4-2, only two wins were against BCS conference teams. The SEC did well (6-4), but like the Big 12 (4-4), lost a tremendous amount of talent going into 2011. The Big Ten, however, played all seven of its bowls against BCS conference teams, finished with a 4-3 record, including two BCS Bowl wins, and their best team has a strong returning roster. Ohio State's locked and ready while Penn State will reload as usual, and both Iowa (if they can shore up huge holes on the O-line) and Wisconsin could challenge the Buckeyes. You and the writer can believe that all you want. We'll see how it turns out in 2010.

The SEC has gotten all of the media love the last three preseasons. The Big 10 has been the 3rd or 5th ranked conference by most analysts heading into the last three seasons.

Conference power changes every few years with only the SEC staying put. And really it is all perception. Records in bowl games mean nothing as it is all about match ups. Even reords against other conferences are meaningless. Seriously, does Iow abeating ISU mean the big 11 is better than the Big 12? No, considering ISU is in th ebottom half of the Big 12 and Iowa is in the top half of the big 11.

That is why the Big Ten earned a lot of respect after the most recent bowl season. The top four teams in the Big Ten were matched up against teams that were perceived as being stronger (three of the top four Big Ten teams were underdogs and PSU was pretty much a pick'em game by kickoff if I remember correctly) and the top four teams in the Big Ten went 4-0 in those match ups.
