More trivia
In 1978 the Big 8 had three legitimate candidates for the Outland Trophy. Can you name the three individuals and the Universities they played for?

Re: More trivia
Just a couple wild guesses...
Greg Roberts -- Oklahoma
Kelly Saafeld -- Nebraska
Can't think of a legitimate third for ya
-
Re: More trivia
Well Greg Roberts of Oklahoma won it that year so there is 1 of the 3.

Re: More trivia
No way I can do this one without google.

Re: More trivia
yah this one is awfully hard
-
Re: More trivia
Kelly Saafeld -- Nebraska WAS NOT A LEGITIMATE CANDIDATE!
Although a very good player - he was not considered as such until later on in the season.
Please try again!
P.S. another hint...you may or may not find it on google!

Anyone got another guess...I will keep this up for the rest of the day and return later to see if anybody got the right answers.

Re: More trivia
Give up? I will tell you that there was one right answer - Greg Roberts from oklahoma who in fact won the award.
The second is Reuben Vaughan from colorado.
The final one is none other than our own Mike Stensrud from Iowa State University!

Re: More trivia
Mike is from Lake Mills where he is still living. I am originally from Hampton, but first met Maynard and Mike Stensrud when I was younger. Mike is a good friend of mine as is his son Andy who played for Danny Mac.

Re: More trivia
Played for Terry Miller (1980-1983), who later became the AD when it became North Iowa. He was still fairly young then buts probably retired or close now.
