The reason attendance falls off, regardless of performance is because of the hillside.
I would have a much easier time convincing my wife to buy cheap single game end zone bowl seats in October rather than hillside seats. I wanted to go to a game or two last year on the hillside and I was vetoed.

She has a bad back and wouldn't be able to stand the whole game or sit on the ground for that long.
