Re: Big 10 going to 4x4 Divisions?
KU actually has sold out every football game except the Iowa State game for the last two years. But back to the point. It doesn't matter if 50% of the people living in Iowa are Cyclone fans. The Big 10 already has the Iowa market as far as TV is concerned. This whole thing comes down to money and not much else matters.

Big 12 now Big 10?
A source in St. Louis familiar with the situation told NewsCenter 16 Thursday afternoon that Missouri will leave the Big XII and soon join the Big 10. Other schools expected to follow the Tigers are Syracuse, Pitt, Rutgers and Nebraska.
Many have speculated that such an expansion would include Notre Dame but ND athletic director Jack Swarbrick told me today that the Irish prefer to stay independent in football and in the Big East for other sports. Swarbrick said maintaining football Independence is such a part of what Notre Dame is.
He went on to say the Big East is a great partner for the University in other sports.
"We do have to monitor what is going on," Swarbrick said. "There will be significant shifts. "Hopefully we can navigate them by keeping our football independent and keeping our Big East affiliation because that is what we care about."
The move of Syracuse, Pitt and Rutgers to the Big Ten from the Big East could categorically change the landscape of the Big East itself. Thus, what Swarbrick is referring to when stating the University must continue to monitor what is going on.
The interview with Swarbrick was done before the late afternoon announcement. Big 10 Expansion at hand? Swarbrick on what it could mean for Irish -

Wow if true......this will be interesting to watch as it develops. -
Re: Big 12 now Big 10?
If it happens, the Big 12 needs to ACT FAST and get something to make up for the loss. Clearly, we can't equally replace Mizzou and Nebraska, but we could get TCU, Boise, Utah, BYU, etc. Clearly we would be depleted and not as good, but at least we would be stable.

Re: Big 12 now Big 10?
We will probably add Texas School only. Soon the Big 12 will be all Texas Schools.

Re: Big 10 going to 4x4 Divisions?
If we can add Utah and Arkansas I wouldn't mind. I would like to keep Nebraska but I could give a **** less if Mizzou goes. I know we will replace them with at least one Texas team if not two. Texas and A&M could both end up leaving for another conference too though.

I find it amazing the NCAA is sitting back and letting this happen. It will go nuclear and what is left will be two or three mega conferences with lots of independents.

Not only that but the Razorbacks have scheduled to play A&M for lengthy amount of time (10 years I beleive) in the new Cowboy stadium. They've been playing more and more Big 12 teams in both men's and women's BB lately as well.
I'm not convinced that Arkansas would join the Big 12 if there were to be an opening but if some things changed (revenue sharing or some kind of Big 12/Pac 10 network) I would think they'd at least listen to an offer. Unfortunately I don't see those changes taking place especially with someone like Beebe running the show.
Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience. -

But last I knew Arkansas was glad to be in a different conference and it has nothing to do with playing them.. its just the politics of it. Like I said things could be different now, but last I knew Arkansas wanted nothing to do with them conference wise but I'm assuming your refering to common fans too who don't really know what they are talking about.

R U serious?!?!?! It’s not enuff to just not like Iowa and its fans, but now we have to perpetuate a scnerio that would never happen just to uplift ISU and tear down Iowa?!?!
Heck I’ll play along………………There is absolutely NO WAY a conference like the Big 10 and all the clout they bring (you guys call it arrogance) would allow ONE team to tell them who could or couldn’t be in the league. Ironically enuff that’s kind of what’s going on in the Big 12 right now with Texas, so I get why you’d think that, but I’m sorry that happening in the Big 10.
Texas ain’t bigger than the whole. Chad
