Interesting.

already posted, but I would concur.
we placed ahead of TX?
All 3 State schools in the top 74.
Not bad for a state with a population around 3 million.
Everybody knows what counts is Football and Men's basketball. Almost all fans can't tell you how the other sports even did. Financially they are a drain on the budget and are paid for by football and men's basketball...mainly football. It would be nice to be good in everything but I would trade 20 years of National Championships in every single non-revenue sport for one National Championship in a revenue sport.
It's great to see some positive publicity on a national ESPN Blog regarding our Directors Cup ranking. Refreshing. Our surge may be coming at just the right time. Go Cyclones!!!
What do these represent, sorry!
Womens bowling? Fencing? Rifle? Surely we could put together some decent teams for those sports and move up a bit like Nebraska did.
I really think it would be beneficial for the Big 10 to add Nebbie, Mizzou, ISU and then 2 from the big east. I know we don't bring a lot of TVs, but then again, Northwestern doesn't either and they are in already. What do we add? Well, to be absolutely honest, you have to have someone to beat on (NW in most cases now, add us and you got 2 teams that the big dogs look at and say "Theres a W") and they can view us as that if they want, but we are also competitive in other sports.
Plus, if you have a league with Nebbie, Wisc, Minne, Iowa, & Missouri, it only makes sense to add the one team in the middle: ISU. Save a ton on travel and look out for your student athletes by having the travel time reduced. Plus it would be great for fans of those schools as it makes for another easy road trip for football, basketball, etc.
It would be awesome as far as a league goes, but we just don't add TVs, which mean $$$, so unfortunately, I don't see it happening...
Hawks sucks hahahahaha:biglaugh:
It's nice, but I get annoyed when people trot out the director's cup rankings. 99% of fans don't care or even know what it is.
