Early recruiting talk...

so what are the main positions we should concentrate on for recruiting this year? i noticed we are going after some really good players, but lets be serious, we dont offer these kids any free stuff so most of them will not come to isu. and yes, this is a bigger problem than most of you think. one of iowa's commits chose iowa because they were the only school (out of about a dozen visits) that didnt offer him anything free. that ol-henderson kid turned down iowa because he couldnt get free stuff out of them. i always thought it was a few schools that did this, but apparently alot of schools do. this hurts isu recruting big time, but at least we run an honest program... sorry, got off the subject...

so what are the odds of us pulling in any 4 or 5 star kids this year?

I bet we get at least 3 4 stars. I doubt any fives unless they are guys that jump in the season.

There are only 25 or so 5 star players in the country and none will be signing with ISU.

Max Steward was a stud at West Texas A & M University.

That class was the beginning of the demise of Danny Mac.

The next class is suppose to be small...perhaps only 18-20 scholarships available to give out next year.

That might not be conducive to getting more than 1 or 2 of the 4 star recruits as ISU likely needs a full class to pull in a handful of those players in a given year. At least it means the roster retention is going up and we have more depth thats not made up as much of the walk-on variety compared to years past.
