yeah, but we are much faster than them, so the field would affect us more. we had to overcome more than just the flooded field - the refs, the communication that was interfered with by the Iowa staff - you know there was a reason we had to call a time out after a time out, right - it was because our communications were down due to the iowa staff clipping the lines. and you are correct - all that and we still could have won.

The headset issues for ISU in that game were due to a malfunction in the ISU wireless headset system, similar to the issues in the NDSU game of 2009 (which was due to faulty phone lines in Jack Trice). They put the coaches on corded headsets and had clear communication. The delay of game and timeout issues were not a headset issue -- they were a coaching staff issue.

Not to mention the several inches of rain that fell in 48-hour span, on a stadium with an outdated drainage system. If Iowa was trying to flood the field, then why were there guys with mops, brooms, and squeegees trying to push the water off of the field during pre-game activities?
