Which conference game in 2010...
... do you see us having the best chance to beat that particular spread for that game? In other words, which game do you see us either getting a) an upset over a pretty good team or b) a killing over a mediocre team?

Re: Which conference game in 2010...
When was the last time ISU DESTROYED a team in football? (Like 42+ to 0)
We need that next year...
Edit: Just looked it up...
2002 and 2005

Re: Which conference game in 2010...
Nebraska. We could also do it against Texas or Oklahoma because the spread will likely be huge early in the season because we are ISU.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -
Re: Which conference game in 2010...
Nebraska for the good team we could cover against, KU for the mediocre/bad team we could destroy.

Not to be a grammar Nazi or anything... but did anyone else find that sentence hard to read?

Kansas will suck this year.

Re: Which conference game in 2010...
we're really digging for football talk if "which conference opponent do we have the best chance to overly cover the spread against" starts to come up.
I like it
I say we beat Texas Tech in a game we are a 10 point dog.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

If you are wanting to bet, do it early with ISU... NIllinois, UNI, or Iowa... spreads will be close in first two and we should/could win by 10-14 pts..... we will be dogs against IOWA by about 13...

I wouldn't go guessing the spread against Iowa before we play our first two games. If we get beat by NIU or UNI the spread will be much greater than 13.

Re: Which conference game in 2010...
Oklahoma. we will be huge dogs to them and Texas, and unlike the Longhorns I could see us giving OU a fight. Althought it was at home, a 1 win at the time team led by the excuse for a coach now at Auburn had ISU up 7-0 at half to OU. ended up losing by a score of 17-7, but I think Paul Rhoads can get the boys motivated out on the road. I don't have the IV of Cyclone koolaid so I can't predict a win, but I think we can definitely cover and keep it closer than experts think. Texas, new QB or not, will prolly destroy us, but I would love to be proven wrong. The only other possibilities are if Northern Illinois (while historically competitive) just falls off and/or doesn't show up. Otherwise it would be CU (I'd feel really good except for it's on the road in Boulder) and KU (we REALLY owe them a beatdown in Ames)

Re: Which conference game in 2010...
Best chances of "killing" somebody: KU or CU. But neither are likely, I'd say. I doubt KU will "suck" THAT bad, and have we ever killed it in Boulder?
Best chances of pulling an upset: Tech or Mizzou. I bet we are dogs to Tech with where it's at on the schedule (they have a buy the week prior, and likely will be 2-1 when coming to Ames). And obviously with Mizzou, it'll depend on how the season went for us both to know who'll be favored in that.
I have a feeling it will get ugly down south in Norman and Austin. But those spreads might be ridiculous, so who knows--it might be smart to put your $ down on us.
