Flander was a 4 star TE but not rated as high as this kid and let's be honest, ISU typically can't get a 3 star DE let alone a top 100 DE in the country. And Webster never came to ISU

There you have it right there...all big name recruits: Paul Rhoads, early playing time. If you're a stud why not start as a freshman rather than wait until your junior year?

I found it interesting that some free content on CR says they think he could wind up as a really good offensive tackle by the time he signs.

Re: Visitors this weekend
Wherever he plays, DE is a crying need, and Newberry's commitment would energize the class, and get the summer's recruiting off to a fast start. Here's hoping he really liked us...but truth be told, I'd be almost as happy if he only committed on signing day. "Hey! I'm building something here!"

Yeah, he could play either at a high level. Very gifted athlete. I assume we are looking for him to play DE because of the need but I don't know that.

He could go both ways if he wanted! DE and OT!! He's that good!

Re: Visitors this weekend
"I mostly hung out with Roosevelt Maggit," he said. "I knew him from back in Florida and we got a long well."
Roosevelt Maggit could end up being our best recruiter, that is, if he can sway Newberry and his brother to ISU. -

north of omaha. you can overcome dyslexia if you work hard. Like Troy Davis? I heard he had some serious learning disability(s), but Dan McCarney got the tutoring Troy needed to pass his classes. ISU could do it again for Patrick if necessary.
