Re: I woke up mad...
You know what makes me mad is that Texas getting to decide our fate just like they decide everything else in the Big12. Why not let them leave and have the 5 remaining North teams and rebuild the Big 12 the way it should be and have the power in the north again with all of the originals.

I really hope Grassley and the feds look into all the income these big schools get and make them pay some tax on the tv revenues.

Don't worry - Chet Culver has taken this on. We will be fine

If it was about geography, or academics, or total athletic prowess, Kansas would already be into the Big 10. This is about one thing... GREED and MONEY.
And another thing. Why do Iowa fans think it's "funny" that we're on the outside of all this looking in? Why is it funny to them that we are getting crapped on? I say **** them. I hope the whole university burns to the ground today. I'll be there... roasting marshmallows. Why would KU already be in the Big 10? Geographically they are not a fit, Academics are rated below ISU, and their athletic prowess is limited to BBall......not picking a fight....just don't follow the logic.

You better believe if the situation were reversed, we would have posters on here absolutely loving it. Just don't expect a lot of sympathy either. ISU fans have constantly been bashing the Big 10 for a long time, now they are absolutely desperate to get in. It will be sad if the Iowa/ISU rivalry is ruined from the result of Iowa State falling to a lesser conference like the MAC or CUSA.

You are correct that it is about money... but it is less about "how many people can fit in the stadium?" and more about "How much TV money can we get?"
The whole thing makes me sick. Would hope our institutions of higher learning would put tradition, loyalty, geography ahead of TV money, but apparently not.

Hmmm...I am sure you felt the same way when the Big 12 was formed? Or was that different because it was ISU that was benefiting?
Exactly, the argument gets stronger each year. That isn't about benefits to ISU... I also think that coach salaries should be capped at professor rates...

Great, so universities with law schools and medical schools will have a huge advantage as those schools traditionally have the highest paid faculty. "There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr -
Re: I woke up mad...

But I am seriously mad at these idiots in charge of our big 12 (one of the best conferences ) sitting around not doing anything ...Yes they can .... they can go get two more texas teams and move ok, and ok state to north ...Or countless other things to be proactive ! Neb can leave mizzou can leave they do not hold any special cards ...UNLESS you let them ... Well looks like to me we handed the whole deck over and said go on mess this up for Everyone!????
