Question for Matt Perrault (Not-Bashing) Louisville/Cincinnati Big East Related
Yesterday you brought on a guy from Providence and he seemed pretty anti-ISU/KU/KSU/Mizzou in the Big East. Can you try to get a UofL or Cincinnati Rivals/Scout guy to gage his opinions on your show? I haven't really heard or seen any Louisville or Cincinnati reaction so it would be interesting to hear on your show.

It's called agenda-based production

If you have a question for Perrault that you don't want to turn into a bashing thread, I would recommend a PM.

The reason why I booked McNamara yesterday morning was because he is the premier writer covering the Big East and was recommended as someone who has their pulse on the entire conference.
Until someone other than one writer who works for the DC equivalent of "Juice" reports that the Big East is looking at adding 4 to 5 Big 12 schools - I just can't put much stock into the story.
Long, long way to go for Iowa State.

Long, long way to go for Iowa State. I wouldn't say that....This realignment is like the Dust Bowl, we'll have to see when the dust settles because the updates from "experts" can come out at anytime.....

Long, long way to go for Iowa State. Well, Creighton ain't joining the big XII either, so screw you Perrault!

And, 6 months ago, it was a long, long, long way for NU to get to the Big X by 2011.

That's interesting. How is it that he was a guest on 17 radio programs yesterday then? Honest question.

Seriously, just ignore MP and this board will be a lot more fun.

That's ok - I talked to a Big East official who told me that talking happens a lot in these situations and we know that Kansas has spoken to the Big East - doesn't mean there is any real interest for Iowa State.....YET.
I'm still waiting for a report to come out from a trusted outlet that the Big East is planning on inviting Big 12 schools after Tuesday.

Matt, sinple thoughts here: Do you care to go on the record with what you would like to see happen?
I think a better supported ISU (financially) would be better for your job. Also, being able to talk about ISU verses G-Town, Syrc, and other Big East schools during your broadcast in the winter would be pretty attractive. Also, a move by all 4 schools to the Big East may bring in some better bowl tie-ins.
Wouldn't it be better to travel to a BCS conference bowl tie in? I would like to think you would be pushing this a little more than you have as it would look to benifit you as well.

AG - I've been on the record ... for 3 weeks. Iowa State to the a new Mountain West is the best place for them ... especially if they claim a BCS spot till 2014.

Long, long way to go for Iowa State. 1. Over here the Examiner blows the "Juice" out of the water. It really isn't even hard. Is the Examiner a really good newspaper? NO...but that still doesn't mean the writer's story should not be regarded. IMO, he is probably the only one that cares about where these Big 12 teams go. Everyone else is too busy trying to speculate on the big teams.
2. (in bold) This statement was just uninformed and inappropriate. Quotes like these are exactly what make it increasingly difficult to listen to what you have to say about this issue. I realize you may not feel you are bashing a school, but you really need to turn on the edit button in your mind. Journalism is sometimes in the detail of how you portray things...and you aren't portraying them well for your listening audience.

After all if both Creighton w/ McD and ISU w/ CUSA become irrelevant to sports, that would not be good for the sports market in western Iowa.
