Big 12-2 staying together
As an Aggie this is a sad day for me. There was so much hope of going to the SEC amongst the Aggie fanbase that this seems like a kick in the gut. A&M, Texas, and Oklahoma are all set to make $20 million or more each year, while the remaining teams will make between $14-17 million, while staying in a BCS conference. Texas is also set to launch a Longhorn Sports Network which is set to bring in 3-5 million per year.

“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -

Why would you want to go to the SEC and get pounded every year?

Re: Big 12-2 staying together
It's a sad day for A&M if you graduated from there. Apparently you can't tell the difference between A&M forums and a Cyclone one.

I'll worry about some of the other things later.

I was actually hoping you guys would leave, so the Big 12 can add a new team to tell you the truth.

(see Ark) How is it different from staying in the Big 12 and getting pounded every year?

(see Ark) I think A&M might have done OK. Texas kids who want to play Florida, Bama, and LSU every weekend might have appealed to some.

That money is going to probably go into coaching staffs and paying competitively to try to position ourselves better so when this happens again in 2 years, we're hopefully in better position.

Re: Big 12-2 staying together
It's breaking news here and I was just stating my claim, which I know won't be the popular one here. Texas now fully dominates the conference, which is what they wanted all along. In the SEC, every game is nationally televised each week. Hopefully, the Big 12 will have the same agreement. Arkansas has been in the SEC for 20 years, and although they haven't had the greatest success, they have won 4 division titles over that time period and they dominate out of conference opponents.

Re: Big 12-2 staying together
It sounds like A&M is going to make a **** load of money. Why are you guys so ******? You would get your brains beat in by the SEC powers. In the Big 12, you just have to knock off OU and UT?

Re: Big 12-2 staying together
Meh. When you're on top, everyone tries to knock you off. Which I'm sure Coach Rhodes has in mind.
Let's hope you can get excited about your team and coach, and let's have a great Big 12 (or whatever the name will be) with the teams that want to be here!
