Read on NU board that ISU, KU, KSU, Baylor, MU agreed to sign over CU/NU buyouts to..
texas, oklahoma and texas a&m. per sports illustrated. please tell me this is not true isu! man, you guys are in a tough spot essentially being "forced" to live in the big 12.
it is like your conference is the mafia and texas, oklahoma and texas a&m are don vito corleone. the "forgotten five" are luca brasi doing texas, oklahoma & texas a&m's dirty work and then getting whacked by bruno tattaglia.
texas, oklahoma, texas a&m are literally extoring every other member of the remaining big 12 and they will continue to do so at every oppotunity. they want everyone's milk money and you all have to hand it over to them with a forced smile.
my.....what a happy little family the new big 12 is going to be going forward....i see this new "forced" marriage lasting about 4-5 year, tops.
texas, oklahoma and texas a&m should be embarassed. just sad. -

In order to stay in the shower, we had to drop the soap.

Are you kidding me? We are in one of the toughest conferences in the country and we wanted to stay rather than run from the competition. We haven't exactly been successful in TX and OK, but we aren't running east or west to get away from it.
Moreover, the penalty dollars were offered up IF the revenues generated from the TBD TV revenue were less than what the southern schools were offered to leave. If they reach their number through the contract then the penalty dollars will be distributed according to the normal split.
Face it, many schools would kill to be in our shoes. We have no illusions about being equal to TX or OK from an athletic program perspective. However, we will run from no one!

I have heard this isn't true.

Thanks for your concern.
We are fine with how things worked out, so no need for you to be upset. I know it is hard to realize that we won't be dropping to division 3 like you had planned.
Good luck with Nebraska.

You might have checked on of the other 10 threads on the subject to find your answer... http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...ney-nu-cu.html (ISU is not forfeiting any "exit money" from NU/CU)
Now you can go back to that NU board and tell them that they are wrong...
