That D-line looks serviceable, and the backfield looks very athletic. This D could be ok.
That looks about right to me... but I think in the end that Rump might just get the most minutes of anyone on the interior of the DL. He may not start, but he will be on the field a LOT.Quote:

Looking at that list, we actually have some talent. I think this year the O will be fine, and they find their groove. My biggest concern is D-Line. I think our D is fine against the run, but we must get some pressure out of the front 4. Blitzes are great, but those guys must get a push on the quarterback if we are going to go to a bowl game.
I hope Parker plays like he has shown flashes of, and I know Neal has a motor on him. Another year in the gym should pay some nice dividends.
Rony Nelson making it on to the field and being somewhere close to as advertised could be the difference between a bowl or no bowl this year. If we can have just one D-lineman require a double team, it changes everything.

I think that you just about have it. For the nickel, I'd have Taufoou come out, Klein moves to MIKE, Benton moves to nickel LB and Reeves come in at CB. That's what they did in the spring.Quote:

I know for a fact that the coaches wanted Benton to play DB as of last spring. Don't know if that has changed, but the only way he doesn't start DB is if Young somehow beats him out. Don't see this happening right away, maybe after a few games though.

Is Hicks ready to go? I sure hope so, because with the loss of Sh, Hicks' return is now even more important.
