And if we're gonna go with a tractor, might as well be one like this:
The bigger the tractor, the harder to travel and store. Plus there is just a romance about old tractors that nothing new can touch. It harkens back to a simpler time.

Nope, it's a perfect idea with no conceivable down side. You are a complete idiot if you see any potential issues with this.

Seriously though, I think it is a cool idea, I just don't see the Athletic Departments going for it, thus I think it makes more sense to focus on a trophy idea they might actually get behind.

OK, talk of what kind of trophy we're going to have for Farmageddon should end at a vintage tractor. I'm sure there are K-State/ISU fans that have a collection of antique tractors, and that we could find one person willing to donate a tractor to be made as the trophy of this new rivalry.

    Make this happen.

This is an outstanding idea.

Maybe this guy who already said he would donate his 1953 John Deere?

Ok, can we at least have the tractor pull in a trailer with a corn cob bomb on it, because I really like that idea

It doesn't have to see the field, would fit comfortably on the sideline.

If the AD wants it, it's theirs. It runs but it will need a paint job and the seat needs reupholstered. I saw a news piece about a kid who restored a tractor for a 4H project. I think ISU and KSU would love to sponsor another 4H kid...

    Re: Farmageddon: Trophy Game?

I was assuming the use of a larger tractor. If we're going with a smaller one, I'd like to see a restored IH 706.

Painting this thing is going to be a challenge, though. Will one side by KSU and the other ISU?

This can happen for real, I know it, but we need more signatures on the petition. We already have almost 100 in under 3 days but I need help pimping the petition. I already sent signature requests to all of the alumni presidents for each of the 50 states that have one. Any other ideas? I need help.

    Re: Farmageddon: Trophy Game?

My idea for the trophy is have a tornado with a football emerging from the top with a stalk of corn on the left of the twister and a shock of wheat on the right. On the base are Cy on the left facing right and the KSU Wildcat on the right facing left, both pictured in a classic boxing pose. A good old fashioned twister is as "Farmageddon" as it gets. Make the base from a solid block of black walnut. I think it would be an awesome trophy.

    Re: Farmageddon: Trophy Game?

I think the tractor should have a mostly normal paint job... with I-State/Powercat on each fender or somewhere appropriate.

Definitely don't want a Purple/Gray...Cardinal/Gold split paint job though.. bleehhh..

I'm really liking the real tractor idea. That's an attention-getter.

    As for the donation aspect:
    1) One person here already offered one up.
    2) If Deere did it, sure it might not all be green, or some of it might be, but their name will be mentioned all over this thing, year-in and year-out, so they get a ton of attention.
