A friendly rivalry where you can talk **** before the game and drink a beer with them afterwards.
Who's KSU's big conference rival? KU seems far more concerned with Missouri (who is technical a rival of ISU). I think ISU and KSU should come together on this.
The idea of making the game an annual party is a winner. Except for a few idiots, the fan bases are very similar and quite likeable. I could go for making it a fun event. Tailgate together, cheer our respective teams on during the game, and then tailgate and socialize the night away. If we are going to have a trophy, let's make it big time ag related, something the squawk fans in both states will ridicule and detest. The whole concept will seem beneath them and they will avoid the game and the fun like a plague.

I love a trophy that would look kinda like the top of the Stanley Cup, mounted on a wooden base, with an ear of corn and a shock of wheat laying in it. Call it the Bread Bowl, and leave the name of the game as Farmageddon.

Based off CPR's comments yesterday about how much he likes neutral games at NFL stadiums and the proposed new scheduling system of 4 home/4 away/1 neutral, it looks like Farmageddon may become permanent at Arrowhead. So what does everyone think of adding a traveling trophy to Farmageddon? And if yes, what should the trophy be?
Personally, I love the idea of a trophy. New traveling trophies are added quite often (Clemson/BC in 2008, Cincy/Pitt in 2005, and Iowa/Wisky in 2004) and traditions have to start somewhere. List of College Rivalry and Trophies
So, how about a John Deere steel plow? Either an actually plow or a bronze replica mounted on a base. John Deere revolutionized agriculture in 1837 with the Steel Plow. Plows before then were made of cast-iron and often broke. The steel was more durable and changed agriculture by allowing thousands of acres of prairie to be turned into farmland. The steel plow also launched John Deere into a agriculture powerhouse that developed the first tractor. The plow was used extensively in Iowa and Kansas and was encouraged so much during the Homestead Act that the government told people that "Rain Follows the Plow." Meaning that rain would come water the crops if the ground was plowed. The plow had a huge impact on the development of Iowa and Kansas. Plus, John Deere could sponsor the game/trophy for money.
So what do you guys and gals think? Yes, No, Maybe? I say yes, and as if you needed another reason to attend the Pixies are playing KC Friday night...The Pixies Kansas City - The Pixies at Uptown Theater | Eventful -

One of my high school classmates is now a Hawkeye sportswriter. He claims that he suggested the term to ESPN's Big Ten blog guy; the ESPN guy did feature it in a column this summer, just a day or two after Nebraska announced they were moving. I wrote him a nice letter explaining the meaning behind the burgeoning rivalry, and asking him not to promote or use the term in reference to a game between Iowa and Nebraska. It seems as though a certain number of Hawk journalists are hellbent on stealing the name, though. They think that having the "ANF" stickers on their helmets makes them an ag school.
It's funny how they proudly (and incorrectly) brag about having something to do with agriculture in the same breath that they make fun of ISU for being an ag school. It's like watching the class idiot confuse himself.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Iy would also be another Trophy in the trophy case in real life and on my PS3! I would also get more recruiting points for visits scheduled during that rivalry game during my NCAA dynasty.
I like it!
