Re: Farmageddon: Trophy Game?
How about a real, life-size, John Deere tractor? The winner from the previous year drives the tractor out onto the sideline, and the winning coach of that day drives it off into the sunset. ISU would keep it proudly on display in the Jacobson Building, and I'm sure K-State could find a place to display it when they win.

Re: Farmageddon: Trophy Game?
Here's what I'm looking for. Slap the scores on the base, add a "Farmageddon" name plate, and make it weight about 50 pounds. -

Those are just a couple that I heard....

The real solution is to push for ISU and KSU to make something happen here first. Not begging Iowa and Nebraska to not use it.

Originally Posted by MiniCyclone I like how it lets you check both boxes. Well, this is the first poll I've ever posted so... More info on the Plow.
According to the FFA
The plow signifies labor and tillage of the soil, the backbone of agriculture and the historic foundation of our country's strength.
The plow is also the symbol of the vice president. Further emphasizing the importance of hard work, the vice president notes, "without labor, neither knowledge nor wisdom can accomplish much."
The moldboard steel plow was known as the "grasshopper plow" and eventually was called "The Plow That Broke the Plains." The plow, in combination with other unsustainable farming techniques and a drought, eventually caused the Dust Bowl of the late 1920's and 1930's; where millions of pounds of top soil eroded away on wind currents. The Dust Bowl devastated the economy in both Iowa and Kansas and added to the economic woes of the Great Depression. Dust clouds could be seen as far East as Washington, D.C. and coated the White House in dirt. When Iowa hero Herbert Hoover was elected President in 1928, he promised the first ever farm relief to help with the Dust Bowl. Hoover eventually became a scapegoat where he was blamed for the lack of rain, despite the government policy of the past where plowing was encouraged even in the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico. The plow began to decline in use after the Dust Bowl and is now rarely used today. The Dust Bowl is still considered one of the greatest environmental disasters of all time (an antique BP, if you will). ISU's view of the Dust Bowl
The plow represents agriculture progress and change towards more sustainable agricultural practices and a more stable food supply for the world.

Re: Farmageddon: Trophy Game?
I really like this idea. We need to make new traditions to get some new respect. I also really like the idea of staking our claim on the "Farmageddon" name befor Iowa steals it.
SO How do we make this a reality?! I see no reason why we couldn't get a trophy made between now and Sept. 18th. That's all it would take I think, Right? Just get a trophy and present it to the winner.
Who do we need to contact? Pollard? KSU's AD? If we could make this really happen it would be a great accomplishment for CF!! and computer nerds the world over!!
