Money talks...and TV wants a Championship team. BYU brings a lot of money and numbers to the game, plus the capabilities to form a Big 12 Network internally. They will be too good to pass up. Follow the money. Right now everyone says it won't happen...it will.

If the Big12 does go back to 12, it would have to be 2 teams that would add to the revenue of the conference in football, and not harm how much gets divided up by each school. BYU could probably be a good candidate. Not sure if TCU would bring enough, or Louisville or Cincinnati for that matter too.

Just like Colorado going to the Pacific coast...not about geography anymore. TV will determine which team. Plus the Big 12 needs to be set to go to 16 teams if necessary.

You are crazy. I think that the Big 12 sits tight for a few years and lets things blow over. Here are my predictions:

2011: Big 10 grabs Rutgers and UCONN, making their claim to east coast markets.
SEC follows suit grabbing UNC, who won't go without Duke.

2012: SEC strikes first this time, taking WVU and FSU.
ACC continues the decimation of the Big East by snagging Pitt, Syracuse.

2013: Big 10 finally gets their ND acceptance and brings in Maryland with them.
Big 12 expands to 14 with BYU, Louisville, Cincy and AF.

My older brother is a Notre Dame grad, and after reading all of his alumni newsletters about conference realignment this summer: ND has about a 0% chance in joining the likes of the Big Televen. It will never happen.
