You are right. It shouldn't happen, but that doesn't mean it won't. I'm hearing and feeling a building momentum towards killing it, fueled by excuses coming from the black and gold side of things.

Even with Iowa and ISU both playing 9 game conference schedules, they could both still play 7 home games each year if they wanted to. As our good friend Mr. Miller recently wrote on his fine website as a reason to 'put the series under the microscope' - in other words, cancel or alter it to favor the Hawks ...

In the years where Iowa has to play five league road games, could they afford to play at Iowa State, as that would leave them with just six home dates (two other non-conference games would have to be at home)? I guess you could say that the following year you could offset that with eight home dates, for an average of seven home dates per year, which is what Iowa has now.

How about play ISU at home during the year where you have only 4 home BigTen games and then on the road when you have 5 home conference games? If the ISU schedule is opposite of that, problem solved. You can play 7 home football games every year, and if anyone says that they need 8 they deserve to be kicked in the groin because nobody should get 8 home football games. That's just being greedy.

So there goes that excuse to cancel the series. What else you got?

Hardly. It's just pointless to debate with folks that come to the argument with their minds made up, and with a filter on full with regards to anything you say is going to be run through their 'hate hawks' mode. Better things to do in life.

Debate, you said on the show yesterday "Iowa needs to drop ISU because they trying get on the national level and losses to ISU are hard to explain on a national level" I believe was your quote yet how much does the national media know about Iowa when they call them the Cyclones, and yet little ISU is in the NY Times a few times over the last couple months and they seem to know their nickname? You put Iowa in places you wish they were in. Do me a favor wish in one hand about Iowa and **** in the other, tell me what fills up faster. Your issue is you are such a Hawk fan that it blurs your realty, not good for a radio host.

Pot meet kettle. Glad the greatest Cyclone hater has tought you well. No need to look at the facts and what Iowa's seasons have been like after losing to ISU. You are the one with an agenda, with a huge following, and the one that hates the Cyclones. The reason many ISU fans hate the Hawks are because of their cocky *** mouthy Iowa fans. But you are better than most Iowa fans, at lease you have attened a college class and this year you will be going to their games.

Iowa is loved at the national level; they jump teams in bowl games, most of their games are on ESPN or ABC, KF is loved, they get usually get ranked well and dont fall far in the ranking when they lose.

If losing to ISU looks bad maybe they should beat ISU. You dont see Texas or OU losing to ISU. To make themselves look good maybe they should beat OSU from time to time, and beat teams in their own conference. Maybe they should put non BCS teams away earily in games and not play them so close in games. Playing ISU isnt what is keeping Iowa back, Iowa is holding Iowa back. Win the games you are suppose to win or you think they should win and they wouldnt be on the outside of the national level looking in.
