Is this normal?

After seeing the Clayborn back pedal featured by the Register, I attempted to find the original article. To my surprise the original story has been removed from both the Des Moines Register and IC Press Citizen.

Is this normal that an article disappears after a mere 30 days or does Iowa control the print media in DSM and Iowa City?

Thankfully we now have the Ku By Ya damage control, and it only took 30 days to figure out a way to rewrite the story.

Actually I think the Register archives most or all of its stories after 30 days. They're still there, but you're supposed to have to pay to retrieve them. I've had a lot of luck using Google cache though.
