The point is that the crimes are indeed apples to apples. They all took a credit card & used it without permission. Bowman & Douglas sat the entire season then left school. Sims is going to sit one game.
I will tell you that I think one game is a fine suspension but I'm not holier than thou. Douglas was suspended for the credit card issue and then booted from the team in October for stealing DVDs.

He also was involved in the City Boyz Inc. deal...while not illegal, it didn't look good. Not to mention, his crime had "felony" behind it while Sims' didn't. Not totally apples to apples.

Not totally apples to apples. I think the felony is a big difference in the cases. While the incidents are not that different, the felony tag is really big in public perception.

I'm finding out that when athletes are let go from their scholarships at a D-1 program, part of the agreement in letting them out is if they transfer to a program that plays their original program in the future, they agree not to play against their original program.
