JTS Game Day Experience Ideas
I posted this in another thread involving the hand gestures, which I will give my idea again. And I believe that at some point last year there was a thread that involved coming up with ISU traditions at the FB games. Well here are a couple, maybe some others can come up with some ideas:
1st, here is my hand gesture idea for ISU: (If we want one)
If ISU wants a hand gesture....the right hand needs to be curled into a "C" and the left hand needs to "Y" like in sign language (fist together but the thumb is sticking out as well as the pinky finger is out....) Then the left hand "Y" needs to be rotated back and forth like a "Cyclone" motion. Then, we have a "Cy" hand-gesture.
It would get popular if the Cheerleader girls start flashing up those "Cy" hand gestures....then everyone will catch on. (then spin "Y" like a "cyclone")
Also, if we are going to get into traditional things here. When there is a home game at JTS....I really wish we had a cooler kick off. Right now the crowd just chants: "Ohhh" up until the kick then we stop. I say, continue with the "ohhh" and right after the kick we all chant CY - CLONES!!!!
Ex. Notre Dame.....their crowd chants the "ohhh" up until the kick....then when it's off...they yell I - RISH!!! It just sounds so cool. We should do that at ISU. Get some more flaver to the game day experience at JTS.
My other idea is this, when we stop an opponet on third down and we force them to punt, the band should play the "Wicked Witch of the West" music from The Wizard of Oz. That song is cool, very recognizeable and it features a Cyclone/Tornado....it would be a cool tradition to start up. Much like Michigan State does with the Rocky and Bullwinkle's Dudley Doo-right theme, they play it when they force a punt. It is very original by them in doing this. I believe right now we play some random "gladiator-type" of music that about 50 other teams already play. that is not very creative or original by us. I say play the WW of the West music....would be funny/cool and become tradition.
Just some ideas to inhance the gameday experience. If you have more, bring them up!!!
Go Cyclones!

I could go for this but the rest is a big NO.

Really, I could care less about a "hand-sign." But since it was asked in another thread...I would think that is the only thing that ISU could do.
Also...in regards to the kick-off. I know that most try to get their keys out for it....but what about twirling our arms in a "cyclone motion?" I mean, we are the cyclones....why not incorporate some of that atmosphere in JTS?

If by twirling my arms in a "cyclone motion" means something similar to punching the mouthy Fusker fan in the face sitting anywhere near me when they come to JTS.... COUNT ME IN. -

Easiest way to improve the gameday experience: Streakers.

Re: JTS Game Day Experience Ideas
How about twirling your hands together like a tornado? And make a swishing noise.
NO.
NO. NO.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Sounds like great entertainment...and a huge lawsuit waiting to happen.

Edit: You'll have to take a raincheck on the rep as I "have to spread it around". Nevermind that I have hardly been on here for two weeks. "There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr -

Re: JTS Game Day Experience Ideas
The Cy-CLONES chant on the kick-off is a good idea, but the rest is a big 'NO' - especially the hand guesture, which sounds way to complicated.

I am pretty sure our entire section including a 70 year old Clone fan was about ready to beat the living crap out of a group of about 7 Fusker fans. The older gentleman might have told the female fusker fans husband that he would tell her to shut up if he wants because "she is an ugly *****." Good thing security came up to escort the Fuskers out of there otherwise things were going to escalate out of control about 10 seconds after he dropped that gem. -
Re: JTS Game Day Experience Ideas
Was that over in/by Section D? I recall hearing that argument too.
Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:
'Struck by a Cyclone
It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town' -

Go Cyclones! 2 things.
1: The hand signal thing is one of the dumbest things I have ever read.
2: Why would we yell go Irish?
