This. I think we have some of the nicest jerseys but go to the front-page of this site and look at the helmet without your cardinal and gold shades on (The article featured has a picture of the helmet currently). IMO it should have stripes down the center and should be gold to bring out the logo. The only helmet that I can think of that I think is worse would be Texas Tech or Kansas.

I'm not saying they're terrible but they certainly aren't cool.

Exactly. I'm no art major but cardinal on cardinal isn't really helping show the new logo. Why not put it on white or gold?

I think they pretty much all suck. I am a big fan of the old yellow helmets with the red cyclone but I dont think they would go well with the new uni's

If you want to talk about the uni's i hate them they are ugly. the jersey and the helmet are 2 different tones. this is iowa state every time we get a new football coach we change uniforms. lets drop the chizik era and move on to the Rhoads Era. we are a design school we should be able to come up with something.

I agree. Dark red logo on a dark red helmet. The logo is bad enough, but we could at least make it a contrasting color to the rest of the helmet.

If the Big 12 stresses you out this much, you should probably find a Big Ten team to cheer for, because I doubt that ISU is going anywhere...

What's your suggestion? Gold on gold? That's exactly what would happen if you put the I-State logo on a gold helmet. And white helmets would look absolutely hideous with our home unis when we have absolutely no white whatsoever in them. Face it - the cardinal helmet is the best option we have - at least the STATE stands out on it.
