wish caspers wasnt redshirting, have heard good things about him. burris will be the biggest suprise on the o-line this year. he's gonna dominate! spears could be a good backup if he stays healthy, think he sprained something a couple days ago
I give the nod to Hicks to start at the beginning. We'll see how things shake out after that. My biggest worry with him, is that he will not be in good enough shape to keep motoring the entire game...so I could see Caspers or Smith subbing a few series here and there.
Hard to know if Hicks will be in good enough shape to go an entire game, but he is in way better shape than he was when he came here. He has lost 40+ pounds (and he needed to). He looked great in the media day photos, so here's hoping he is in top football shape. At least he doesn't have to play his way into football shape like Tuba did his first year. Half his first season was over before he was in football condition.
Hicks was a backup that year. I believe he played in all the games because he was on the extra pt. team or some other special team.
That's the way I remember it as well. I was almost sure he never started, and I know he was on the field for extra points. KO, Haughton, and Alvarez all got pushed into the starting lineup that year due to injury, however, paid dividends last year.

But, you musn't touch!
His name sounds good in your ear
But when you say it, you mustn't fear
Because his name can be said by anyone!”
