"The current official seating capacity is 44,008; the release states that "after construction, Amon G. Carter Stadium will have a seating capacity of 40,000 that can be expanded to more than 50,000 seats.""
An upgrade in quality and a downgrade in seat number...interesting.

We need to stop living in the 1950's and upgrade JTS already.

An upgrade in quality and a downgrade in seat number...interesting. Beat me to it. That's a awefully expensive upgrade to lose 4000 seats.
Of course, Iowa lost some seating in their last renovation, didn't they?
Clearly there's some plan in there to make the 10K expansion much, much easier. Otherwise, why mention it? It'd be interesting to see how that would work.

An upgrade in quality and a downgrade in seat number...interesting. Sounds like they wanted to add some new luxury boxes and improve the amenities. I don't think their average attendance has been that high so this might help keep the current fans happy and bring in some new ones. Then they can expand to 50K+.

Re: Yet another JTS renovation thread (TCU)
This isn't about not wanting to do an expansion. It's about not having the funds to do the expansion. If we had the funds, it would happen.

Oh boy! Here we go again! Who's the dude with the RAGE sig. & the blindfolded Rolling Stone chick avatar that always says, "Why waste millions to make Jack Trice look more empty?" He always cheers me up.

Re: Yet another JTS renovation thread (TCU)
The TCU renovation adds suites, club seating, and lounges. This can generate a lot of revenue, and could probably make up for the 4000 lost seats easily.
