Seneca Wallace and Sage Rosenfel getting some props
Brady Quinn, Curtis Painter, backup QBs don't inspire confidence - Don Banks - SI.com
In this sports illustrated article on back up QBs former Iowa State QBs Sage Rosenfel and Seneca Wallace get props for being great back ups... Personally I think they could both be good starters. I think Seneca could do well with browns starter, and if Favre doesn't come back Sage would do a great job for the Vikings.

One of these guy really needs to be a starter This is game 1, of preseason. Glad they did well, but do you really want to hang your hat on this on a debating on whether either is worthy of starting? -

I think that Seneca to the browns might be the best thing to happen to him actually. I don't think Delhomme will be playing much because if I recall correctly Delhomme is a little fragile, and probably on his way out. Seneca is great for the wildcat, and is a good QB in his own right.

Re: Seneca Wallace and Sage Rosenfel getting some props
If you look at the stats, Seneca has a better career QB rating than Delhomme, and that's while being primarily a back-up which I would say is a disadvantage.

Wallace is 5-9 as a starter, 5-13 in games where he has played significant minutes.
Rosenfels has a 6-6 record as a starter, 8-13 in games where he played significant minutes.
I guess it depends on how you define being a "good starter" but neither has exactly lit the world on fire when they've been given the opportunity.

And I guess "played significant minutes" is code word for came in after the starter got his hind end handed to him so you put the loss on them. Please. Sail that ship somewhere else.
6-6 is much better than a lot of quarterbacks in the league
5-9 isn't horrible either considering how bad some of those seahawk teams were.
With a horrible qb like tavaris jackson sticking around, i have no problem saying both should have an opportunity to start.
