Camp Report: Offense dominates scrimmage #2
Good day for the offense.
The defense....not so much. This is all good news IMO though. Iowa State Football: Offense dominates scrimmage #2 | Cyclone Fanatic -

2 weeks cant come soon enough!

Re: Camp Report: Offense dominates scrimmage #2
Not suprising that the offense made some serious strides this week. It generally takes a bit longer for the them to come together than the defence.

I do not remember times like this under the Chizstick. The last year of Mac we had no competition.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

“That is a decision that Coach Rhoads, the offensive staff and us as a whole staff will have to make in terms of separating classes,” Herman said. “I think that you would like some separation in classes and be able to redshirt one of those guys, especially knowing that we are deep enough with other running backs where you feel like you need to play both of them. We will see where that goes.
Really? Because it doesn't mention either one by name. By the way the coaches have talked, it sounds like Hollis is better at this point.

Yes, but SJ came here because he was dead set against redshirting. I don't see him redshirting. I just think Herman would like to redshirt one if possible to spread out the classes.

We know that our defense is a weakness, and it was even more so last year, but Wally knows how to coach what he has. Our offense has been a disappointment, except for select games, so to hear that they are finally getting it, I'm ecstatic! Especially hearing that 4* WR Sed Johnson is maturing.

Everyone needs to keep an even keel on these scrimmage reports. Don't read so much into them because everything can change in two weeks.
Don't concentrate on which unit looked better, but concentrate on what the staff says about them. The last scrimmage the D coaches were stating positives about the D flying around the field and making plays. The O coaches put the lack of production on lack of execution (pass catching) not a total lack of ability or grasp of the offense.
Personally, I am very happy to hear that the offense is executing their plays much more effectively. The defense had an off day, but I don't think it was because they are completely incapable.

Re: Camp Report: Offense dominates scrimmage #2
The offense having success is great news. IMO, it really doesn't matter how the defense performs this year. Their ceiling is only so high. Even with the D playing at their absolute best, Iowa State is going to have to score points...and a lot of them for that matter to have success.
