I remember when Jake McD was recruited and few ever saw him getting as big as he currently is and I think this kid will be the same - he'll enter his redshirt freshman year at 245 - 250 and possibly get up to 260 - 270 and be a beast. Love the fact he is a Clone lifer!!!

He has plenty of wt already as a 17 year old. He has a big enough frame where he could put on 20 lbs or more of muscle easily. He is what we need.

No kidding...we usually have 2-5 guys by the start of the season. This staff is on the ball!

Have seen Lemke wrestle several times, and imho, he has the potential to be a big time sleeper.

Does he like taking naps or what? I mean seriously, how much sleep does one person need per day?

In all seriousness though, I really like that he's a wrestler. It helps with that aggressiveness that he'll need on the DL.

6'4 220 is IDEAL high school DE size. my old high school will be playing them this fall, and i was planning on attending. I also love the fact that he was a wrestler AND a track runner. That is a huge, i mean huge plus.

Very nice pickup. Not sure how many DE's we'll sign (or whether these two will stay there), but this is a darn good start....

Both of these are great points. 6'4" 220 in HS is plenty big. Heck, could be 240 by next fall easy. Also, wrestling helps with body strength and positioning, and also track? Are you kidding me?

This kid sounds like the sort of recruit we need. I bet he really turns into something.

Re: FOOTBALL RECRUITING: New DE commitment

Keep in mind that when you are talking about DE in this signing class, we have already likely gotten commitments from four players..... David Irving, Devin Lemke, Jevohn Miller, and Nick Kron (greyshirting this Fall, on scholarship starting next year).

IMO, Jevohn has got the frame to get way larger and heavier than needed as a LB.

Re: FOOTBALL RECRUITING: New DE commitment

Looks like a great commit to me. Jordan Carstens interned at where I worked back when he was a redshirt and weighed like 195lbs. Never would have guessed he would put on that much weight and had the success he did. I really think we need to build our d-line players and this looks like what we need.
