TWO new football commits!

Iowa State just received two new football commitments.

Tad Ecby, a WR from St. Pius X in Houston, Tex.

Ken Lynn, a DB from Kimball HS in Dallas, Tex.

A WR over 6 feet tall?!?! No way.

I have never really followed recruiting, but it seems like Rhoads is really hitting the recruiting hard and getting more commits earlier than we normally do. Is this a fair statement, or am I way off base?

Keep that Texas pipeline flowing!

Happy to see that we beat out OU and OSU for Lynn. I'm surprised with Ecby though, I didn't even think he was looking at us.

I like Ecby. He's a great rout-runner and has good hands, but isn't that fast. The route-running can make up for that though, as long as he makes the most of that ability.

Have we ever had this many early recruits before?

No, you are right on. This is the most recruits we've had this early in as long as I can remember. I think that means we are hitting on our first choices. That's a very good thing.

Dude looks like a beast. He has a freakin' BURST after the catch on some of those. Looks like a nice large target to throw to as well.

I think it is more of a national trend over the past few years. Kids committing earlier. Look at the number of commits for all schools, and they are all high. Just my opinion.

Wow. He is a big XII receiver. I realize the video is his highlights, but on some of those plays he even looks like he could be NFL material. Mad props to whoever got us this kid.

You are probably right. Things always seem to eventually trend earlier and earlier. High school football kicked off last night! The fair isnt even over yet!
And I wont be surprised if Christmas lights start appearing by Halloween either!

great video of Tad. He reminds me a lot of denario alexander. A real long strider with some separation speed.
