Good Sports Bars
I live in Grimes and am looking for a good place to watch the road games. Are there any suggestions for the WDM, Urbandale, Johnston areas?

The Ridgemont in Windsor Heights, right on Hickman across from KMart.

Re: Good Sports Bars
CW will suggest Ridgemont or 3Bag. It all depends on what type of atmosphere you're looking for.

Re: Good Sports Bars
Overtime Bar & Grill 86th St just off of 35/80 probably the closest. Also Victor's on 73rd & Douglas in Urbandale.
Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:

It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town' -

Re: Good Sports Bars
True on Vic's, but it's within walking distance from my house, so it holds a soft spot with me. Overtime always looked packed on the weekends and is really nice inside. Never ate there though.

The Chicken coup isn't too bad either. Although I never seem to get a great vibe from that place.

Trophies or Johnny's Hall of Fame and both are Cyclone friendly establishments!

Great fried food, delicious wings, the gf doesn't like them though because they have a natural gas grilled flavor.
