    Princeton Jackson

Perhaps this has been mentioned before, but I see that '09 ISU signee Princeton Jackson is a linebacker at Blinn JC--rather than having gone to minor league baseball, as some had suggested.

So he's a sophomore this year? Hope we still have a shot if he has his grades in order.

So, a whole year later, I trust that it's okay to notice that he had eight sacks as a freshman?

Well, if he did sign again, where would we put him? It's not like he's not a really good player--so aside from creating invaluable depth, who would he displace?

We could actually play a 4-3 defense without relying on Benton. We could have some depth at a position we have none. He could be better than somebody and take their spot.

I wouldn't worry about recruiting a guy and who he could replace. That's the players job to worry about

Either red shirt him and let him take an outside spot and have A.J. or Jake move inside when Matt leaves, or let him play a back up role for a year and let him have a shot to start for 1 year. I hope we get him back. I, as well as many others were very high on him when he signed with us the first time.

uhh, if you're asking, "Why do we need another linebacker?"

take a look at our depth and caliber at LB this year. Were not exactly the baltimore ravens

Jackson committed to Chiz originally right? Hopefully this staff has a good relationship with him still.

Uhh...no, I wasn't asking that. I like to pride myself that I have an IQ higher than a warm bowl of gravy.

I was wondering how you sell a juco a spot, when we should have all three starters returning. On the other hand, I'm sure that there are always adjustments that can be made if he wants to come. Even looking at what comes back, I think he'd be a real asset to the team next year.
