Stadium Sound System
Does anyone have any updates on this? Has it been fixed? It sounded like crap last year.

Re: Stadium Sound System
No, hasn't been upgraded yet. I believe a new sound system and video board will be the first to be upgraded though, if I remember reading it correctly in another thread.

Re: Stadium Sound System
Yeah, they fixed it when they bowled in the end zone.
True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

My guess is that it will still sound and look like crap Thursday.

Re: Stadium Sound System
As if a good sound system is really going to make the team win or loose. Who cares!
Are you not going to go because you are so bothered by the sound system. Let's get real, yeah it sucks but that is some nick picking. If you want it improved help with the bring one campaign for the Cyclone Club.
Nothing better than making enough noise during a game that you can't even hear the announcements. Unfortunately that doesn't happen that often.

Hopefully they go all out when they get the new ones, which hopefully is in a couple years.

Re: Stadium Sound System
It will be fixed when we get the Denny Albaugh endzone done.

Somebody posted an email from Pollard about this last year basically saying that they wouldn't do it until they do the endzone because it didn't make sense to put in a new sound and video system only to rip it back out in a couple years to do the endzone. So, for those of you that just can't stand our speakers, better get on board with the idea of the endzone project.

Re: Stadium Sound System
I am guessing they will want to spend $10 Million + on this A/V project so its not a small amount of money.
My only concern is if the South Endzone never gets built. Are we never going to upgrade the A/V then? There has to be a threshold of how many years they continue to use it etc..
Too bad they couldn't bring in some mobile speakers or something. I think Texas Tech does or did that for awhile.
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum.... -

Re: Stadium Sound System
Here's a quote from the ISU Athletics Five Year Review mailing I just received, under the Future Facilities section:
FOOTBALL STADIUM VIDEOBOARD & SOUNDS SYSTEM -- Replace the Jack Trice Stadium video scoreboard and sound system to improve fan experience and prepare the stadium for the eventual bowling in of the south end zone.
Kind of sounds to me like they might invest in this upgrade first, at least the way this was written.

Re: Stadium Sound System
it seems that all the audio comes from 1 location which is the endzone scoreboard area. wind really chops up the sound when it needs to travel from 1 area to the whole stadium.
we'll live until an upgrade is made.
