Steady rain showers late Tuesday prompted ISU officials to close additional areas in some public parking lots for Thursday’s Iowa State-Northern Illinois football game. Grass lots G-4, G-5 and G-8 will have limited availability due to saturated ground. The public lots north of Center Drive also remain closed to accommodate flood recovery work in Hilton Coliseum.
Fans are encouraged to car pool and utilize smaller vehicles, rather than bring buses and RVs. Early arrival to the game also is advised.
Public parking areas near the College of Veterinary Medicine and all donor lots are expected to remain accessible. Public parking options include the use of paved campus parking lots after 5 p.m. A shuttle service is scheduled to operate from the Kmart parking lot (1405 Buckeye Ave., off South 16th Street), beginning at 5 p.m. and running until after the conclusion of the game. Riders are cautioned that wait times between shuttles, especially after the game, could be long.
All available lots open at 1 p.m. Thursday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Public parking costs are $20 per car ($40 for RVs and buses, which are discouraged for this week's game).
As a lot G-7 Cyclone Club parking permit holder, the Cyclone Club wants to share with you an update on the status of your parking lot for tomorrow night’s football game versus Northern Illinois.
As of noon today (Wed., Sept. 1), the Cyclone Club anticipates Lot G-7 will be available tomorrow night.
Please note however, because of the recent heavy rains and the prediction of rain tonight into tomorrow, that some portions of the lot G-7 may not be used for parking.
To ensure everyone has a positive game day parking experience, please know that all parts of the lot will not be available. Please follow the directions of the parking attendants; this is crucial to help accommodate all donors that park in this lot.
If we are not able to use Lot G7 due to potential heavy rainfall, the parking attendants will direct you where to park.
Please check cyclones.com tomorrow before travelling to Ames for updated information on the availability of Lot G-7 and other lots around Jack Trice Stadium.
We appreciate your understanding and patience in advance, as we work through trying to accommodate all our donors and fans parking needs on gameday.
