Not many are saying NIU was a cupcake. But let's be honest and say that 90 of BCS conference teams would have been favorites by double digits. Although progress is being made as we once would have lost this game and now using the W to support our slightly kookaid inflated view of our team.
Eastern Illinois is a FCS (aka I-AA) team and is by far the smallest of the four "directional" schools in Illinois. Northen Illinois is FBS (aka I-A) and is by far the largest of Illinois' "directional" schools. Did hawk fans forget they played NIU in there big game at Soldier Field a few years ago??
I remember after the Soldier Field game an friend and hawk fan said, "Maybe some day the clowns can play in an NFL stadium." To which I replied, "You mean like when we played Florida State a couple of years ago at Arrowhead?" It is sad when I not only have to educate "fans: about my team, but their own team of choice...

Stanzi completed 18-23 for 229 yrds against E. Ill.
which is more impressive?
I think Stanzi ONLY throwing for just over 220 yds. against that defense is ridiculous!
I think AA ONLY throwing for just over 260 yds. against NIU is pretty conservative!
