Re: ISU looses Walker, McFarland to follow?

I think we will be going after Montrell Clark I will paste his rivals profile. I think he was the backup plan to Walker. He is trying to schedule a visit and last I heard he was trying to get there Oct. 3rd. So I am not sure if he is there. He looks good to me. Also Now is a great time to focus all energy into Negadu. Remember it takes 2 studs and a bunch of good role players to make a good run. Fizer, Tinsley were the studs. The rest of the guys could burn you on any givin night. If we get Negadu that would be our second stud along with brackens. Here is the link to Clark.

Stinnett was a Morgan recruit but I don't think the other two were. McFarland had actually committed to USC last year until USC assistant DeMarlo Slocum (his former AAU coach) moved on to Idaho. Walker recruitment arose out of the current staff's connection to the "Pump 'n Run" AAU organization in California, where Coach Otzelberger was last year.

Psyched about the Clones!!!

it may just be that Garrett is the Tinsley to Brackins Fizer. in other words, we probably already have our 2 studs, and now just need to fill in the edges. I think sometimes we all forget that Alex Thompson is essentially a 2007 signee to this team - so if you look at a class of Brackins, Garret, and Thompson, now what does everyone think? I think this is a great class. it would be great to add a Stinnett and/or McFarland to it, but still a good class regardless IMO.

Arrived in STL via Ames, IA & Bloomington, IN!

Dude! Montrell is 6-9, 180! That guy has to be one of the skinniest humans alive!

Still excited about Basketball though, I have every faith in McD.

That is terrbible news! I was so excited for the recruiting class and now it looks like we might not sign any of the 3 remaining studs we all thought we were getting???

What are the realistic chances we get Stinnett/McF? If Walker was 95% and Stinnett/McF chances are 65%...we are in trouble.

Re: ISU looses Walker, McFarland to follow?

I say it's probably 50/50 we get one or none of them. I would probably think Idaho leads for McFarland and we Lead alittle bit for Stinnet. They might be trying to convince each other on going to the other school and that is the hold up. I would not get our hopes up.

Dana Altman at Creighton will never promise Walker definite playing time. He will do the best for his team. And Creighton is rated higher than Clones in basketball this year anyway. They will be in upper echelon. I do not see what Walker saw in Creighton other than Omaha versus Ames. He will still play Nebraska. Surprising to me.

Re: ISU looses Walker, McFarland to follow?

Montrel Clark needs to get bigger if he wants to play Big XII basketball. A post man weighing 180 isn't going to get it done. Imagine Montrel trying to post up former ISU players Homan or Vroman.....no contest.

Re: ISU looses Walker, McFarland to follow?

Walker had been on Creighton's list for a LONNNNGGG time. He's been offered by Creighton since February (so way before McD left UNI).

I would agree with that assessment. Don't get your hopes up about Stinnett/Mcfarland but do keep hopes high for other recruits because there are plenty of good players we can still snag.

ALSO, we all originally thought we'd only be able to sign 4 players... so we might just get two more, maybe even two more guards, and call it a class, saving that scholarship that would have probably had to have been taken away from Thompson, and either using it for '08 or letting Thompson keep it his entire career here (disclaimer: I don't know that situation to be a fact, just speculation on my part)
