Iowa State's Upset Bid Falls Short, 59-54

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State’s upset bid came up short as the Cyclones allowed the ninth-ranked Baylor Lady Bears to go on a 9-2 run at end of the game to defeat ISU, 59-54, Saturday at Hilton Coliseum.

Iowa State led, 50-44, with just over six minutes left in the game, but three different Baylor players scored in a 6-0 run by the Lady Bears to tie the game at 50-all with 3:44 to go. Jocelyn Anderson hit a pair of free throws to give the Cyclones a 52-50 lead. After Rachel Allison tied the score again for BU, ISU’s Alison Lacey hit a jumper to give Iowa State its final lead of the game 54-52.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

I was there, we played our freakin' hearts out and we got some bad calls and non calls down the stretch. Woulda been a helluva win for Fennelly's crew and an awesome resume builder. Great crowd energy though, kinda disappointed in the student section...
