TUCSON, Ariz. – Alex Johnson drove in two runs and Sydni Jones hit her second home run in as many games to lead Iowa State to a 3-1 win over Illinois-Chicago on Sunday at the Hillenbrand Invitational. With the win, Iowa State improves to 14-3 on the season, just 10 wins shy of its total from a year ago, with 40 games remaining on its schedule.
Johnson put
ISU on the board in the third inning, ripping a double to left center to score Courtney Wray and Carleigh Berry. Berry had reached on a bunt single and Wray had doubled earlier in the inning.
