KANSAS CITY, Mo.— Alison Lacey converted a conventional 3-point play on a full-court drive and lay-in with 0:04 seconds left to help Iowa State down No. 15 and top-seeded Kansas State, 66-65 in a wild overtime thriller Wednesday afternoon in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City. Lacey, who scored six points in the final 0:11 seconds, helped the Cyclones erase a six-point overtime deficit with under a minute remaining. ISU, which improves to 20-11 on the season, reaches the semifinal round of the Big 12 Tournament for the seventh time. The Cyclones will face the winner of the Texas A&M-Missouri game tomorrow afternoon at 6 p.m.
Iowa State took control early by making five-of-its-six shots from the floor to forge a 13-5 lead with 14:39 left in the first half. ISU used an 11-0 run sparked by a pair of 3-pointers from Alison Lacey and one from Heather Ezell to help set the tone. ISU’s stingy defense kept the Wildcats at bay throughout much of the first half. KSU cut the lead to three points (19-16) on a Marlies Gipson bucket, but Ezell countered on the other end with a trifecta to push ISU back up 22-16 with 4:41 left before intermission. Full Story |

why do game stories on cyclones.com never have an actual photo from the game the article is actually about? I know they want to get the article up ASAP, but there are AP photos of games on various websites immediately after games. It just seems dorky and lazy to me... it also is rather funny that they offer the photo for sale even if it wasn't from that game. The same goes for men's game stories as well... you'll see something like "Cyclones Fall to Texas Tech on the Road" and there will be a pic of Wesley in a home uni driving to the hoop.... and the writers sure love the word "Fall" to describe a loss...
