LINCOLN, Neb. – Iowa State saved its best rotation for last Friday against Nebraska at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln. It wasn’t quite enough as
ISU fell to the No. 15 Huskers 196.175-194.150.
The Cyclones scored 49.950 on beam, their highest total of the season on that event. Bolstered by three scores of 9.800 or higher, the Cyclones beat their previous best score on beam by .075.
“I’m really happy with our effort on beam,”
ISU head coach Jay Ronayne said. “It was the last event and we knew we were down, but we focused on our performance instead of the scores. We’ve been working on keeping our focus and we were able to do that. (Assistant) Coach (TeShawne) Jackson has done a terrific job with them and all the work is starting to show.”
