BTW, NebrClone,
Thank you for all of the updates throughout the year. I don't think anyone can match your level of information on a recruit. Any chance of you moving to the Ames/Des Moines area. I would love to have your (Wes') updates on one of our prospects, 2010 Harrison Barnes of Ames.
Dont forget getting to see Harrison Barnes and the Drake guys.

He has the fastest agility drill time at ISU, scored the most 3's in a drill at ISU with 214 made 3's. His AAU team was 20-7 last year (I think) winning 1 tournament and getting to the finals in another. The team was made up of all small school players.

I heard that they give him a head start at the agility drill and move in the three point line due to the fact that he is from a small school in Nebraska.

We all know there can't be good athletes from that kind of place.

Can he hit a shot with a man in his face??

Sounds like he could be a good one. A 3 point sniper just what this team needs and the first since Jake.

I'm not an expert on sports, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night

He is a very good finisher in traffic with contact and has a very quick release on his three.

I can almost bench as much as him and I'm only 160! Give me my scholarship now?

I think there is also some requirement that you not suck at basketball or something like that...

I'm sure they'll look past that...

Edit: better yet, they should have an Iowa State University Call of Duty 4 team. I would own.

Wes appears to have something else in common with Jake. Mac has said that Wes has the ability to hit the pull up mid-range jumper that most guys struggle with these days. Jake knocked down a number of 12-17 ft shots. You need to have a quick release and the ability to shoot off the dribble.

These numbers are pretty sick. That FG percentage alone would put him at the top of the ISU ranks.

I'm looking forward to seeing him in our uniform.

I assume you were kidding, but still have to say- I can think of a lot of states where we'd be lucky to get their 10th best player!

BTW, this is my favorite line from the article:

Eikmeier will play next season at Iowa State.

Patrick who?

His stats are very impressive. I wonder how those will translate into Big 12 competition.

I know one thing. A free throw is a free throw. And 91% is amazing. All he needs to do is get to the line. He doesn't even need to shoot 3s. Heck, just dribble drive and draws fouls. If he can get to the line 10 times a game and hit a few jumpers here and there, he could put up 10-20 a game.

That, unfortunatly, is something we will have to wait to see. The wonderful thing about sports is the anticipation for next year. What I like about all of our incoming recruits is that they are winners. I believe that it was TimF that said recruiting winners was as important as talent. If you have a choise bring in the one who knows winning. Next year looks like a good year to me. But as I said that is the great thing about sports.
