Re: Cyclones Face Rutgers at 8:30 p.m. Monday

I really doubt that we're going to win, but I'll still try and go. I think we'll be able to hang with Rutgers for a half and maybe a bit more, but they'll probably outpace us in the end. They're pretty fast, and they can hit threes with blindfolds on.

When I said attendance might be hurt, I was referring to the student attendance because of jobs/studying...game not in Ames, etc.

The Women's team is floated by non-student attendance anyway. There are hardly any students that ever show up for those games.

Re: Cyclones Face Rutgers at 8:30 p.m. Monday

Besides the pep band and Cyclone Alley central i would say the average number of students that attend a game is 20-30. I don't think the students not showing up will hurt at all.

I live in Ankeny and will still be lucky to get home by 11:30. And i get up at 5 for work in the morning. Probably be leaving early if a blowout, and watching Rutgers play yesterday, it probably will be.

ESPN2 Coverage maps - much the same as first rounds. Most of the country gets a smattering of the best parts of the close games.

ESPN - ESPN/ESPN2 coverage maps: Monday, March 24 - Women's College Basketball

I sat in on the Rutgers Press Conference today. It didn't sound like the players knew that the team they are playing tomorrow night (Iowa State) was different from the team that C. Vivian Stringer coached in this state 15 years ago, which was Iowa.

Kind of upset me that they really had no idea. Now I could be completely wrong, but that is just the way they came off.

Go Cyclones! - Go Kohawks!

Re: Cyclones Face Rutgers at 8:30 p.m. Monday

to be honest the players for them didnt seem to care much about anything... and really almost seemed like we were bein overlooked.. i wouldnt mind it..

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

My wife, kids and I always loved going to women's games. It would be awesome if we could make an NCAA tourney game, as I've never been to one. Unfortunately, our Gulfstream IV is in the shop, so a trans-Atlantic hop to watch the game is out of the question....

I know it's a reach, but it would be great to win this one.

Good luck to the women.... and everyone who can make it - cheer loud!

If I was in Ames, I'd be there.

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."
