CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Stephanie Aguero went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs as Northern Iowa held off a late Iowa State rally and defeat the Cyclones, 6-3, to earn the series split Wednesday at Robinson-Dresser Sports Complex.
The Panthers (11-13) out hit Iowa State (21-12), 11 to seven, and the Cyclones were unable to take advantage of three UNI errors, leaving seven on base.
Iowa State jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a second-inning Carrie Monroe single that scored Amanda Bradberry, who walked and stole second with two-outs.
