Yes, all prolific scorers from Upper Midwest high schools are doomed to failure at the Division I level. Just look at the careers of such Cyclone failures as Fed Hoiberg, Loren Meyer, Brian Pearson, and Jake Sullivan. | BvK, you've got to quit making so much sense because I "must spread some rep around" before giving more to you. Can you guys not quote cyclonenum1? A lot of us have him on our ignore list but when you quote him we can see his shrivel.

'But I love the idea of the Sacrificial Lamb. . . There are consequences to actions. The point of the death of Christ is that Christ took on the sins of the world, so that what we put out did not come back to us, and that our sinful nature does not reap the obvious death. That's the point. It should keep us humbled. . . It's not our own good works that get us through the gates of heaven.'

I don't think we need to be too concerned about guys transferring under McDermott. LE was losing guys who were proven players (Shane Power and Adam Haluska). Other guys who transferred under LE also come to mind (Hawkins, Fortune). And there were a bunch of guys who flunked out or never made it to campus (Chris Alexander, Jerome Harper, Tim Barnes).
So far, McDermott has only had role players transfer (McIntosh, Brister, Vette and Cory Johnson). Until guys like Brackins and Wes Johnson decide to transfer, I'm not going to worry about it. I'm more worried about ISU's ability to bring in 6'9" guys who can bang with Bryan Davis, DeAndre Jordan, Ron Anderson, Blake Griffin and Leo Lyons.

To clarify Haluska transferred because Larry was canned and Power transferred because he has a thing for "older women".

I consider CJ to be a Greg recruit - he chose to bring him into the program. He could have brought Westbrook into the program but chose not to. To me that says that he spent the time keeping CJ on board.
Here is our 2006 recruiting class -
CJ
Dodie
McIntosh
Taylor
Johnson
There is one guy left.
Here is our 2007 recruiting class:
Booz
Brackins
Brister
Garrett
Staiger
Vette
Two guys already gone, rumors of another.
So we've had two recruiting classes of scholarship guys that have already gotten here, totaling 11 kids. SIX have left early. If that isn't a cause for concern for you, that's fine. It is for me.
Well my main man Bryce...When you put it in these stark terms...well I must leave for a moment to go to the bathroom and PUKE MY GUTS OUT!!!
There never has been an unstable basketball program ever make it for long at any institution that I can remember...WHY??...Because you cant start over every year and expect to be competitive in a major conference!!
Things gotta change boys!!!...The faster the better!!! | | |
