AMES, Iowa – Sixth-ranked Texas A&M proved too much for Iowa State Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader by scores of 11-1 and 9-1 at the Southwest Athletic Complex in Ames.
With the wins, Texas A&M improves to 36-6 overall and 8-0 in Big 12 play while the Cyclones drop to 23-17 and 1-5 in league action.
In the first game, Iowa State’s pitching staff hit seven batters and walked five as the Aggies took advantage of the free passes and went on to the 11-1 win. Jamie Hinshaw paced the Aggies, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Hinshaw was one of eight Texas A&M players to drive in a run in the first game.
