Good eye, and I agree that shouldn't go on the back of the press box have something like "Iowa State" going across the new archway or something, or even have an "I State" sign on the arch, just not on the building

I like how the new color on the floor out of bounds on hilton. Its not mcdonalds red. Its cardinal. Not such an eye soar. Very nice overall. There is never going to be something that everyone agrees on. I think people should just go with it.

My friends and I have discussed why the bench is opposite the press box before and couldnt figure it out. Any one with a reason for this?

I kind of like the pressbox logo actually, but I think the color is what makes it look out of place. I think it would be cool if they could make it gray scale, or make it actually textured, like it was cast into the face of the concrete. Maybe they could just engrave it instead?
I would think colored paint would be harder to maintain too, with the weather and everything. Engraving the logo in the concrete would never fade away.
I also like the score on the Hilton scoreboard. |
Patrick who?

I'd say it's 50/50 around the NCAA regarding which schools put the home team on the press box side.

Absolutely love the changes to JT. The new endzones are the best change IMO. I thought the old ones with Cy above the white lettering with blue trim were tacky. Great changes.

I'd like to see the medallion on the outside of the stadium, similiar to the outside of Hilton. It's the medallion that is on the Marston Tower in this link. http://www.public.iastate.edu/~isu15.../birdseyeS.jpg | | |

Any one with a reason for this? I think it's always like that that. Think about it, the cameras are on that side when our games are broadcast on TV and you wouldnt want the logo upside-down. Also, I think it may have something to do with having your team on the otherside of the media(radio broadcasters, tv, etc.) so you get the exposure.

Is the arch in the new renderings? I thought it was going to be more in the hillside from the pylons in the last set of pictures posted.

I think the designs are fairly standard, and quite frankly, a little bland and unimaginative, especially in the end zones on the football field and the out-of-bounds area on the basketball court. Why not "dress-up" the end zones a little bit and at least increase the font size of the out of bounds area on the basketball court so it's not just solid cardinal? I'm not saying overdesigned and tacky, but something not quite so bland either?
