ISU Releases New Field/Court Renderings

Courtesy ISU Athletics

Iowa State has released renderings of the new logo on the field of Jack Trice and the court of Hilton. Attached are the renderings. Go to Cyclones.com for the brief writeup.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

I like the I State at mid field, but I am not a fan of the I State on the exterior of the Stadium. I'd prefer a more traditional Iowa State University on the exterior.

I would like to see the writing on the baselines much larger, it seems pretty small there...

SAHWEEET! if I had a tail, it would be waggin' like a black lab sniffing a ribeye... the logo has grown on me in over the last few months... not overly creative, but more simple than twisty bird..

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

That appears to be the ISU vs. Iowa game from 2005.

I don't mind it on the back of the scoreboard, but it looks out of place on the back of the concrete press box

Perhaps it's smaller on the baseline so it all gets in the TV cameras shots.

I would like to see Hilton Majic on the north side of the court opposite of Hilton Coliseum.

I like the Cardinal and Gold Cy at the top of the scoreboard for Hilton. Nice to see they're keeping him around in some fashion.

I should have specified which one, but it's the press box one that I don't care for.

That's funny. I did the same thing right after they announced the new logo..

Of course, I also did one of our new mascot...

Why is it that the mid-field logo faces west, when our bench is on the east? I imagine it's so the press boxes don't have to see it upside down, but the our bench seems to be on the wrong side, unless that's for more face time on tv too...

I wonder if that's going to be permanent now? The last couple of seasons, that switches between Cy, a clock, and the Big XII logo. (Maybe some other things, too.)
