AMES, Iowa- Jiri Hubalek received the call he was waiting for this morning. Hubalek, a third-team all-Big 12 pick who led Iowa State in scoring (12.4 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg) in 2007-08, is one of 65 players invited to participate in the 2008 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, April 9-12 in Portsmouth, Va.
The tournament is a showcase for the best seniors in college basketball to display their skills in front of NBA scouts. Hubalek will play alongside the best senior collegiate players in the nation and will have a chance to reunite with his former Big 12 rivals. Big 12 stars Darnell Jackson (Kansas), Aaron Bruce (Baylor), Joseph Jones (Texas A&M), Aleks Maric (Nebraska), Longar Longar (Oklahoma), Richard Roby (Colorado) and Martin Zeno (Texas Tech) are all scheduled to appear at the tournament.
