AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women’s basketball team received 21 votes in the final USA Today/ESPN Division I Coaches’ Poll of the 2007-08 season.
The Cyclones finished the campaign with a 21-13 overall record and made their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and their ninth overall. Iowa State reached the second round of the “Big Dance” before falling to Rutgers to end the season.
ISU finished in a tie with Texas for seventh place in the final Big 12 standings with a 7-9 league record. The Cyclones advanced to the semifinals of the Big 12 Championship, after defeating regular-season league champion Kansas State, 66-65, in overtime in the quarterfinal round.
The entire Iowa State roster will return for the 2008-09 campaign, with senior Toccara Ross coming back from a knee injury for a fifth season of eligibility.
