STATE COLLEGE, Penn. – The Iowa State gymnastics team ended its season at the NCAA Northeast Regional, finishing sixth with a score of 194.200.
It was a mixed bag for the Cyclones. The team received outstanding performances out of Megan Barnes, Jody McKellar and Nikki Dilbert, but there wasn’t quite enough to recover from a couple costly falls.
“This is disappointing in the sense that we didn’t do what we set out to do,” ISU head coach Jay Ronayne said. “This meet was similar to the way we have performed throughout the season as we had to count a fall here and there. The upside is everyone returns next year and hopefully they will have all grown up with the experience they gained tonight.”
