LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Iowa State tennis team was defeated by the Kansas Jayhawks, 7-0, on Sunday. The Cyclones finished the regular season with a mark of 4-14. They went winless in the Big 12 this season, going 0-11 in conference dual matches. Kansas moved to 9-12 on the season, with a conference record of 5-6.
In doubles, the Jayhawks' Elizaveta Avdeeva, a senior from Obninsk, Russia, became Kansas' all-time leader in Big 12 doubles victories, teaming with Edina Horvath to defeat ISU's Kara Hickey and Chrissy Derouin, 8-4. Avdeeva and Horvath are 13-8 in doubles play this year.
At No. 2 doubles, Lauren Hommell and Kunigunda Dorn defeated Alyssa Palen and Caitlin Loprinzi, 8-4. At the No. 3 spot, Yuliana Svistun and Magdalena Tokarczyk were victorious over Liza Wischer and Reka Kelemen, 8-1.
